Year:
2012
Organisation:
Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD)
Synopsis:

The project, to be undertaken by the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), assesses the impact of South-South cooperation on South Africa’s foreign policy identity and behaviour. The project seeks to evaluate the changing nature of South-South cooperation and its corresponding influence on South Africa’s foreign policy trajectories. The objectives of the study are to:

  • contribute to a better understanding of the importance of the changing dynamics of South-South cooperation;
  • understand how South Africa’s global development agenda including development cooperation is aligned to, and supported by, South-South cooperation; and
  • identify opportunities for rethinking how South Africa’s foreign policy can be strengthened through South-South cooperation.
